Google has been getting a lot of news lately, but it’s hardly surprising. New privacy policy, new plans for Google+, general Google things.
How about that news about new users being required to sign up to Google+?
It really doesn’t surprise me at all, but it’s an important piece of news for self-promoters: Google+ isn’t going away.
On top of that, it’s getting more important. As they add more ‘social’ features to their other services, your popularity and network on Google+ is going to directly translate into PageRank. How that algorithm is going to work isn’t something I’m privy to, but if you want to manage your web presence, a Google+ Profile is going to be key.
Patrick thanks for this reminder about G+. I imagine that this will mean an active use of it rather than the many passive profiles that are around. I’m looking forward to hearing more from you in future.
Guess this means I need to go check it out. I’ve been happily ignoring it for months!
Me too, Carrie! LOL
*googles Googl +* LOL
I guess this is another one to add to my ever-growing list. I’m a long-time Google user but have yet to check out G+. Thanks for the reminder!
I hardly ever use it really, should look into it by the looks of it. Thanks for the tip!
You know I’m a Google+ fan, so I completely agree with this. Eventually FB won’t be able to compete, because Google is so heavily used for everything across the internet. It will just make sense to have a G+ profile, especially if you have something to sell.
I need to start running WANA hang outs, just to draw in some of the tribe!
That’s a great idea! I have to say, I haven’t been on Twitter nearly so much as G+ lately, so I haven’t been up on the WANA crowd
My Twitter stream just moves so fast I can’t even keep up anymore
It would depend on what time you chose!
Thanks for the reminder about G+. I think my blood pressure went up a few notches just thinking about adding another piece to the social media puzzle!
Oh, Google. Don’t they know ENOUGH about all of already? lol… I’m putting off joining as long as I can!
I have “been on” Google + for a while, but I seldom use it. Between WordPress, Facebook, Twitter, now Triberr, etc., I’m spread pretty thin as it is. I will probably try to figure out a way to streamline it as much as possible and get on there more often. What I probably need is a schedule.
Thoughts of adding another social profile kind of gives me a headache…

Trust me, I understand. Google+ is fairly painless as far as they go, though.
I love the G+ site. It is actually my favorite of the social networks. Unfortunatley, I rarely use it because not enough people are on it. I think we need to create a #wana112 circle, and share it so others can follow.
(I have seen others do this, but I am not sure how).
Thanks for the heads up, Pat. I’ve been signed up for Google+, but I really don’t know how to use it yet. I guess I should at least give the profile some attention, if nothing else. Like the others, I’m also feeling overwhelmed with all the different social media sites. And now there’s Pinterest, too! Crazy!
