My drive to learn to program in general is partially to make my degree work together better, since I know how to use SQL and get the basics of building an information system, but couldn’t actually do it if someone asked, which is a huge weakness.

I started out with DOS-based computers and gradually progressed thru various versions of Windows, then got heavily into Unix when my company networked its systems with Unix servers. After a couple of classes I got so I really liked Unix but work as a system administrator kept me busy unraveling problems, although I did learn enough basic coding to debug simpler programs and write some simple commands.. Now I’m retired I’m just too lazy to go back and pick it up.
